The WAW information Centre at the Officers Mess Cafe & Exhibition Centre, Saxa Vord ZE2 9TJ, is open daily and provides a warm Unst welcome, hot drinks, light meals, RAF Saxa Vord Memories Exhibition and all the walk information, maps and guides.
Fetlar the garden island of Shetland.
All visitors to Unst should ensure they allow sufficient time to include a day out on Fetlar. This is a unique opportunity to spend time in one of the smallest and remote communities in the United Kingdom. Fetlar has amazing wildlife, wild flowers and beaches. The inter Island ferry service between Unst and Fetlar is operated by Shetland Council and is available to foot passengers, bikes and motor vehicles. The ferry offers great wildlife opportunities.
Unst Cycle Hire. Opened in 2012 as a direct support for Walkers are Welcome and Saxa Vord Resort. Bookings and collections for bikes can be arranged at Saxa Vord Reception or ring 01957 711254 or 01957 711711 and are subject to availabilty.
P & T Coaches. Adult Bikes and Car & Mini Bus Hire are available at Final Checkout, Baltasound.
For Walking Groups, you may be able to arrange drop off collection at your walk's end. Please check direct with P & T Coaches for this service. RAF SAXAVORD and UNST.
The association between Unst and the RAF goes back to 1940 and the Memories of Saxa Vord Exhibition attracts hundreds of visitors every year. During 2017 it is proposed that an RAF Museum will be developed and a Shetland Music Museum and Corries Museum are now open during the season. The Cafe and RAF Exhibition has been relocated within Saxa Vord Resort.
In adition to Saxa Vord Restaurant (open to non-Residents) Saxa Vord now has an evening bar, the RAF Crewroom Bar.
Saxa Vord Resort.
The resort has modern cosy facilities situated beside a family restaurant facilities, with lounge bar, TV room and snooker table. It opens May to September.
The resort also has 13 quality self catering cottages with 3 bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and dining conservatory. The self catering cottages are available year round from 2 night rental. One night rental can be arranged in special circumstances. See the resort video on their web site.
Shetland Distillery Saxa Vord.
The Shetland Reel Gin distillery is now open to visitors by appointment. Their premium brand gins are gaining a world-wide reputation for their unique taste and quality. A visit to Unst is incomplete without a gin tasting.
Unst has its own specialist brewery producing a range of local beers using local ingredients as often as possible and Unst water, since moving to its new premises in Saxa Vord with a high profile opening and launch party in April 2012 . Many visitors take selected beers home to share with family and friends. By the start of the main season in June brewery tours on two afternoons will be anounced. There will be a craft shop and oportunities to buy their beers to take away. Phone 01957 711658 to check.
Feb 2018 - At present, no tours of the Brewery are being undertaken.
The hotel is situated to the east of Baltasound in a location overlooking the pier and marina. The hotel has a choice of bedrooms from singles to super king size and family rooms. There is a restaurant and bar open to Hotel residents.

The Gardiesfauld Hostel.
Situated beside the shore at picturesque Uyeasound, the Hostel provides a range of accommodation to suit all needs. The hostel provides superb facilities. Camping and Caravans are catered for, with access to Hostel facilities.

Situated in Haroldswick, Unst with superb views overlooking Haroldswick Bay. Within walking distance of The Walkers are Welcome information centre, Unst Boat Haven and Heritage Centre.

Serco Northlink Ferries.
Your Northern Isles adventure starts the moment you step aboard in Aberdeen. The modern ships provide cruise class sailing during your overnight sailing to Lerwick. As you head north into the "Simmer Dim", some sailings take you to Orkney and, in the early morning sun, Fair Isle. A choice of restaurants, bars, cinema, shop and lounge areas equipped with wi-fi. Cabins are comfortable with showers , tea & coffee and TV to order. Additional restaurant facilities have been created and additional lounge sleeping has been added during winter 2013.

A bus service leaves Lerwick Bus Station for Unst Monday to Saturday and returns from Unst each afternoon.
Departs Saxa Vord at 7am and Baltasound at 7.15 am for onwards to Lerwick.
Lerwick departs 07.45 am. Arrives Unst 10.10 am.
Unst departs 14.30 pm. Arrives Lerwick 16.55 pm
